Topics:   [Life]   [Healing of a Child]

   Life
Here is a short study for those of you who need help explaining salvation
or being born again to those out there who are lost.

In the beginning God created; man sinned.
It is almost that simple. As a parent, I told my children not to play with matches when they were small. I did not get rid of matches, but I tried to prevent them from touching them, not because matches are bad, but because the children were too young to know how to use them. The tree of knowledge of good and evil was the same for man. He was too young to use the knowledge. That did not mean it was bad, or that he would not have grown to a stage where he could have had that knowledge, but he was innocent, and immature. Remember he was created not as a baby but as a man, as was the universe. They both were created physically mature, so to speak.

Since man ate the fruit before he was ready in God's eyes, he died. The same could happen to a child who plays with matches and starts a house fire; he dies. Yes, I know Adam lived on physically, but he was dead none the less. He was dead in the spiritual area of his life. We are created body, soul and spirit. Existence with any one of these areas without either or both of the other two would make it hard to live life to its fullest and to understand and handle the knowledge of good and evil. God had to find a way to bridge the gap between Himself and man another way.

First He found a man He could work through, Abraham, and through him He created the bridge. Israel is not blessed because they are Israel, but because of Abraham. God knew that man without the Spirit was only part man not complete. True life, the real life, the life meant for us, was destroyed that day Adam ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. We are to be of the Spirit, and to live and walk in the Spirit. If we all were of the Spirit, there would not be any violence, poverty, lack, sickness, hunger, sadness, depression, etc. Due to the lack of the spirit, mankind lost its ability to understand truth, truth in God, the truth in faith from God. The type of truth that overcomes all of the above. So God used whomever He could, whenever He could, and got His word into the earth to seed His own Son in the earth. When Jesus came, He came knowing full well what was expected of Him and what He had to do. If it meant that only one person would be saved, it would still have been worth it, but He came to save us all. But not all accept their salvation.

Lots of people reject their salvation, and almost all reject it in some area such as health, finances, joy, peace, etc. These are areas in which Satan has done his job to prevent us from growing. Jesus' death, resurrection and everlasting life restore a connection to God. First we accept Jesus as our savior, then we grow in His word. To truly have the word grow, we need the Spirit of God to help us. Christ is a Greek word for anointing; so if we are of the anointing we are of Christ, and we are of the Spirit of God.

Luke 4:18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Isaiah 10: 27. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

John 14:26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

I John 2:27. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

I Corinthians 1: 24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Romans 8:16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: So the bridge to eternal life is Jesus and the concrete for the bridge is the Spirit of God. To really live is to be of God via His Spirit by Jesus.

Topics:   [Life]   [Healing of a Child]

   Healing of a Child
Which is more important to be healed in the "flesh", "soul", or the "spirit"?

That one should be easy..It is the "spirit". I know some of you are out there saying "but a child that is suffering with pain, what about that?" First of all a child is what you and I are; we are the children of God.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: Romans 8:16 (KJV)

Second of all, it is always more important that the spirit is healed before the flesh. Jesus said that if a part of our body offends and could cause us to go to Hell then it is better to remove it and to enter eternal life with Him less those parts than to enter Hell whole. But let's take a small child. Say the child is of a family that is into Islamic beliefs, and now they think after a healing of their child their belief in Islam gets more deep rooted and their chances of seeing the light are diminished. So, even compared to the healing of a child, it is better for the healing of the spirit. When we talk about healing of the spirit we are talking about first salvation. Then growth in the spirit, and finally a walk with God where we are talking with Him and listening constantly. If we have this type of spiritual healing, the soul will be healed as well as the flesh. So many times we wonder why God does not heal someone or help someone in need. Well He already did, and this is how it works. He sent His Son to die for us to bridge the gap between us and Him. Next, to give us His grace so we could operate under His protective coverage.

So, when we sin we have a way to be forgiven by asking (repentance, truly wanting to change). Without having to go out every time and offer a sin offering. Then, in this new connection back with the Father, we learn where we have been lied to about what is ours; that by faith we are healed. It is like driving a car, you do not get in the first time and take off. First you need to know there is such a thing as a car. Then you need to understand some basic truths, like how to turn it on and change gears, and which petal to push to go and which to push to stop. Now with this much knowledge you are started and you know just enough to be dangerous. With some time practicing and learning how the car handles and operates, one day you drive almost as well as everyone else. Like most drivers today, most Christians act in faith the same way they drive. They do not fully stop at the stop sign, they push the red light, don't signal, and so on. Your faith can not be treated as lightly, and taken for granted as much as driving a car is by most.

  • If you come to a full stop at a stop sign you have time to look both ways and make sure you will not be hit when proceeding. Well, faith requires time; you need to stop and let it grow in the word.
  • If you always exercise your faith with out feeding it, it will not always act the way you want.
  • If you proceed through the light after the yellow (which means slow down, not speed up) then one day you may get hit.
  • If Faith is pushed it will not respond to your needs if you are impatient. Driving can be deadly for you and others on the road if you are not an experienced driver using all that you can learn to make it safe.
  • If faith is not used with all the knowledge available, it can be deadly as well. A person who tries faith once and then states, "I tried it, it did not work so I am trying something different" has missed the point. Our salvation itself is based on faith.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Heb 11:6 (KJV)

The only way to faith is with the help of the spirit. Faith is not of the flesh and is contrary to what we are taught and what is planted in our minds (soul). Back to the point, a child that has a need of healing from birth was not made ill by God. No sickness, or illness is of God. Man (Adam) sinned and sowed sin into us, so as we are born sin starts to work in our lives. In some cases it attacks a baby with different forms of illness, sickness, or disability. That is not of God. That is of the world, the flesh, Satan. It is a by-product of sin. As we walk through a river we can not avoid getting wet, so as we come into a world of sin, born of sin, and into sin we can not avoid the effects of sin. What are the effects of sin? Destruction, death, grave, and Hell itself. No, God did not do this. He created the earth and all that is in it from love, with the plan for us to grow in Him, to walk with Him and have relationship with Him as any child does with any loving father. Then Satan came along and got Adam to sin. No, it may not seem fair that we should pay the price of Adam, but we are all descendants of him, and as in any family there is some form of inheritance. And the inheritance we received of Adam is sin, not by God's choice but by Adam's choice. It is like this: take a 4 year old, walking and exploring. You have covered ever light sockets and outlets in your house, but some how the 4 year old gets to an outlet and some how, out of curiosity gets his/her finger in it. Well 120 volts to a 4 year old will most likely be fatal.

Is it your fault? No, not if you covered them and told the 4 year old not to do this. What ever you can do to revive that child you will do. God is the same way. He set it all up and then left it up to us. When we needed to be revived He sent His own Son to pay the price for us. We can sit back and allow the world to believe what ever they want and allow the world to have what ever faith that comes along, or we can do something about it. What can we do?

First get in line with what God wants us to do by first LISTENING to Him.

Second be OBEDIENT to Him. Third continue to do the first two and no more or no less. More people have the idea that what we need is something from this world or that is of this world. We believe if we get ahead, or are healed in some area of our body that this will make us better Christians. The logic of this world is, "If I had more money I could give more to help get the word out" or "If I could walk I could go door to door and witness." You are listening to lies of the world, STOP that NOW. God wants you blessed and healed more than you do, but you are justifying your prosperity, blessing and healing. You are setting conditions to something that has already been done. This is not faith; this is not believing; this is trying to rationalize based on the world how you will earn your prosperity, blessing, and healing. Nothing of God can be bought, or earned, by ways of this world. This world is full of sin and Satan, and what seems wise to this world is foolish to God and what is wise to God is foolish to this world. Believing that God is all that He says He is, and believing He has done all that He has done, will bring you these things. This is faith. Only by faith will you obtain these things. You may get what seems to be these by other methods, but they will not last. Look at Abraham, he did not ask for wealth, but he became so wealthy that his wealth caused he and his nephew to have to separate, because there was not room for both in the same area. Lot (Abraham's nephew) was blessed just by being next to Abraham and following God based on what he saw of Abraham. Abraham wanted a son, and he got him at age 100, and then lived a long time after that to see his son grow up and have children. Abraham got all he wanted by living this verse:

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matt 6:33 (KJV)

We can to, if only we will seek the kingdom of God first and all of His righteousness. This can not be done in the world, flesh, or soul; only in the Spirit. Because God is a Spirit and He lives in the Spiritual realm and His kingdom is all around us. To get to it, it has to be done through the spirit. To enter a house you have to go through a door.

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 (KJV)

What did Jesus say about who would help us only a few verses after the above verse?

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.John 14:26 (KJV)

We would have a comforter Who would teach us all things, and would be our connection and that is the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. God created an awesome thing in us. We have a body that carries us where ever we want to go. Think of the body as a vehicle carrying us, being used by us to perform tasks. Then God gave us a soul, the mind, will and emotions. The mind is our storage for memories and information. The will gives us the choice to do or not do. The emotions help us feel, to live, and to grow in the word. The Spirit is what gives us life. It is our true spark. If the mind goes we are still alive. We may not have any memories, but we can create new ones. If our legs go we can use a wheelchair and still get around. Agreed in both cases it will be harder, but we are still alive. But if our spirit goes we go; that is who we are. Our spirit is fed by one of two sources and grows accordingly. It is either fed by the world (Satan and the flesh of self and evil) filled with darkness, or it is fed by God (of the Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit and not of self) and filled with light where everything is revealed. Those who do not get healed have some form of darkness in their life covering the truth so they can not be healed. The only healing comes from God almighty, not of the world, or logic, but of faith, truth and the light.

So, yes, it is better to first be healed in the Spirit and from there all other areas will be healed. Remember, no one is perfect, we all sin, and God is willing to forgive, and if we sin over and over and truly want to change but still have problems, He is there always ready to forgive as long as we ask and forgive others.
